Can poor planning affect the longevity of my veneers?
Yes. Veneers are considered a long-lasting cosmetic dentistry service, especially when compared to alternatives like dental bonding. This is partly because of the strength and durability of porcelain. However, poorly-crafted and poorly-designed veneers can leave the porcelain (or other dental materials) vulnerable to damage. For instance, in the above scenario, we talk about how veneers that are not properly planned and placed can jut out too much. This not only results in an odd-looking appearance but can also result in the veneer becoming loose and detached from the tooth. Veneers that are not designed and secured properly may even affect your speech, trap food and harmful bacteria, and cause bite and TMJ symptoms, among many other functional and health-oriented challenges.
Can veneers actually improve the contours and appearance of my face?
